Reclaimed Woods and Metals

Many of the items that we offer come from Reclaimed and Salvaged woods and Iron. These woods are re-used from deconstruction of old houses, railroads, factories, bridges, warehouses and other structures. Often times there is a very noticeable characteristic of age and warmth with these woods that are not normally found on new furniture. Using reclaimed and original woods and Iron helps save our forests and reduce our impact on the earth’s environment.

Here at MIX Furniture we carry furniture with original moldings from buildings and temples. We have old balustrades and architectural molding - original doors and garden gates many of witch date well over a hundred years old. Salvaged balconies and windows that have been re-born into one of a kind mirror frames and original benches. We have tables and cabinets made with salvaged wood from buildings and boats. We have iron salvaged from bridges as well as original iron pots and grain and water barrels. We practice this way of re-using materials from one object and incorporating it into another. This is not only an environmentally friendly choice, but insures a look of character and age in the furniture that is sure to be admired and appreciated for years to come.
