Beautiful antique brass Ashoka Chakra water pot from India. Ashoka Chakra most famously recognized in the middle of the national flag of India, represents the continuing progress of the nation and the importance of justice in life. Historically the motif is a reflection of the teachings of Buddha, intending to show that there is life in movement and death in stagnation. The round shape of the wheel itself represents the perfection of the dharma, while the rim of the wheel calls upon the practice of meditative concentration and mindfulness, with the hub at the center of the wheel representing moral discipline.
