Superb antique Bahau Dayak baby carrier from Borneo, Indonesia. Estimated to be from early 1900’s. Colorful glass bead work depicting tradition mother goddess with scrolling tendrils hangs over the hand woven rattan grass basket with two shoulder straps. Base is wood. Decorative and valuable bead work along with strung tiger canines and boar tusks used to symbolize protection of the precious cargo. Signs of age and use in very good condition for its age.
