Description
Vintage large pestle stick hand-carved by the nomadic Tuareg peoples of the Sahara region. Originally used for pounding millet and other grains in large communal mortars. Crafted from dense hardwood each piece features beautifully worn surfaces and finely incised geometric carvings characteristic of traditional Tuareg design. Decades of use have created a rich natural patina, softened contours, and subtle variations that give every example its own distinct character. Today, these sculptural objects are highly prized for their striking vertical form and organic texture, making them exceptional decorative pieces. Sold individually and each varies slightly in tone, carving detail, and age-related wear.
