Description
Architectural antique Indian teak and iron railing panel fragment which features a hand-forged lattice of elongated intersecting ovals punctuated by subtle quatrefoil detailing. Framed in solid teak with a beautifully timeworn patina. Elements like this were commonly integrated into balconies, courtyards, or interior partitions. The ironwork retains its aged surface, offering a rich contrast against the softened warmth of the wood frame. This piece lends itself effortlessly to a variety of elevated applications; can be mounted as a sculptural wall installation, repurposed as a headboard, incorporated into millwork as a decorative inset, or used functionally as a garden or stair railing accent. A rare, materially honest piece that brings both history and architectural presence into a space. Circa late 19th century.
