Pair of Old Chair legs, mid 20th century hand-carved with an elephant and rider from Tharu, Nepal. Originally used as front legs of a cane chair and made from local hardwood using basic tools. An elephant and rider would have been a site often seen in Tharu culture. The motif also serves as a literal metaphor to sitting on strength. Mounted for decorative use. Rich patina with signs of age and use.
