Vintage Kalin stone carved Foo Dog entry statues. These traditional Imperial guardian lions ( or foo dogs ) are a Chinese architectural ornament typically made of stone and are sometimes called" shishi" and are the protectors. One lion is female and the other male. The female represents yin and symbolically protects the people dwelling in the home, while the male represents yang, protects the structure itself. The male holds a ball representing the world and the female holds a puppy representing the nurturing spirit. This is a striking pair with quality hand carving mounted on two pedestals . Sold as a pair only.
